Yes, if you check the product requirements, it's one of the cards supported. This forum's moderator has one, perhaps he can comment, I'm always looking for ways to do things cheaper

For future reference the card works fine. This is the card we did all our original beta testing around over a year ago before we supported the PVR250. One big difference is that is does hardware video encoding but software audio encoding.
I used this card without problems for about 9 months until I switched to two PVR250s.

Does this card have audio sync problems like the Creative card?

Sorry guys...was out all weekend. I still use the provideo card in one of my machines and use the PVR-350 in my HTPC.
Overall, the video quality is better with the 350 than with the provideo card. Not tremendously better, but noticibly better. I don't have audio sync problems with the provideo card. I don't believe that you will have OSD support with the provideo card unless you have your television connected via your video card. You will most likely have OSD support with the 350 once Sage 2.0 is released. My personal opinion and recommendation is if you can find a PVR-250 card for about the same price as the Provideo card, get the PVR-250. If the provideo card is a lot cheaper, then it'll work...it just won't look as good as the 250 and 350 cards do. |

Sorry to disagree with you Mark, but I borrowed a friends PVR250 with the option to buy, but I turned it down and bought a brand new PV256T as the quality was much better.
I like to run at 4Mbs and the PV250 was noticably more blocky than the Provideo at the same bitrate. The quality of the Provideo card is fantastic. I've not had the chance to see the PVR350 or the new PV256T-Pro which are meant to be even better than the first two. I've had some sync problems with the Provideo and I've not been able to pin-point the cause yet, but I don't think it's the card. |

That's great Xleon! I'm glad the provideo is working well for you. I was just reporting my own experience with the provideo card I have.

Mark, I didn't mean it to sound nasty, I apologise if it came across that way.
We both seem to have had different experiences with each card. Whether it was subjective on our parts, or if we had used different versions of each card with different drivers. Who knows? What I forgot to add is that after seeing the quality of my Provideo Card, my friend went out and bought the exact same one and he's over the moon with it |
