no audio on 2nd hauppauge tuner. which drivers to use?

tech support recommended using the newest hauppauge drivers
for another audio screeching and video jerkiness problem.

now, audio drops out on the 2nd tuner.

other posts recommend going back to 1.6
i only have the 1.6a drivers from the cd-rom
is there a better 1.6 driver?
if so, where do i download it?

thanks for any help

You may want to try www.shspvr.com. Excellent resource for Hauppage specific discussions as well as the latest drivers beta drivers.

I have this problem too. The only drivers that work for me are the 1.6 drivers on the CD. I try every version that comes out including the beta's on SHS but so far no go. I have to admit that Hauppauge does not make drivers very well. At least I do have a working version that I can use.

BTW, I have not fully tested, but I am not sure it is necessarily the second tuner. Just the second show to start recording. Like the audio is being grabbed and not shared by the first.

currently only 1.6b from shspvr.com works

i tried 1.6a from the cd-rom, but the audio screeching and video jerkiness returned.

newest 1.7 already failed.

1.6b from shspvr.com is currently working for 4 hrs.
i'll see how it goes.

I am using 1.6a but having no problems. I am going to try the 1.6b today to see if it works. I imagine it will. Thanks!

1.6b - audio problems

when ff/rw, audio occasionally drops out.
by pressing ff/rw, audio usually comes back.
BUT 1.6b seems to be the only tolerable drivers for me.

Will these audio problems be fixed in sagetv 2.0???

The FF/REW problem is an audio decoder problem. Change to Default or from Default and you will get rid of that.

I doubt this will be fixed with Sage. We are slaves to Hauppauges drivers. Unfortunatley Sage is the only app that uses 2 or more tuners so the push to get it fixed by Hauppauge may not be that strong.

1.6b seems to work for me too BTW. Can't tell any difference between the drivers though.

john139,

Have you gotten any further on this? Or are you still using 1.6B?

john134, change your Audio Decoder to the MPEG Audio Decoder and it should fix the audio dropping out problem.
