PSP Conversion

Greetings!

I converted a video in Sage 6.0.11 for the PSP. The conversion was fast! However, it does not do full screen on the device. The video was a HD 16x9 recording. Is there any way to make it use all the screen? Also, I didn't look too hard, but is there a way to flag a show to convert after recording. Also, a way to keep auto conversion from happening until a window specified by me would be slick.

For those keeping score:

Original 6.7GB
Converted 365.7MB
PSP High Quality

TIA

B

For those with PSPs, there is a 2.81 software update which allows for the Sage output to be named anything and placed in the VIDEO folder off of the root of your memory stick. No more archaic naming conventions! http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/Support/SystemUpdate

There's also a widescreen PSP format you should use for 16x9 videos. I know this works. I remember getting excited about it the first time we did it.

Ok so I had 3 shows transcoded and I grabbed the files and put them on my memory stick but my psp refuses to see them. I also noticed that I didn't have any .THM files just the MP4 files. Did I miss something?

What PSP software version do you have? I am using 2.81 and put the video in my VIDEO on the root of the stick. Plays fine from there. I don't know what the format of the THM. file is, but it would be nice if it matched the jpg cover from the original recording.

I have 2.81, i've been doing some checking and the .THM file is just a jpg file renamed to THM. I have an audio and photo's folder under the root of my memory stick so I created a video folder in all caps and stuck the video there. That didn't work so then I moved it to the other folder where you originally had to put video and still no go. After playing with THM files and naming I managed to get one of the shows to come up but it was alot of crap that I had to do that I think doesn't need to be done.

The show I converted, Smith, was CBS HD airing using PSP High Quality profile in Sage. I completely missed the widescreen option. What profile and capture type are you trying to use? Also, what filenameare you using with from Sage? I did not use the default.

I used the default name from sage, the show is SD format and I converted one show with the standard settings and another with high settings. I think this may have something to do with naming.

I don't have my USB cable with me so I can't recall what I ended up with as a file name. I think it is Smith-Episode-2.m4v though. Hope it helps.

Ok I'll play around with the names and see if that works. I'll let you know if it works out.

M4V31337.MP4

I have to rename my files, info listed below.

This is the setting for conversion of video files to MPEG-4 format that can be played by the PSP, and renamed so your PSP recognizes it (such as M4V31337.MP4). Unfortunately, the PSP currently won’t recognize file names such as TheUsualSuspects.MP4 or TheOCSeason2Episode4.MP4.
