Firefly remote: how do I make it less sensitive?

When I press a button on my firefly remote it often times registered repeated actions: for example I want to go to channel 41 so I press "4" and SageTV might pick up "44" because the button is so quick to repeat when it is pressed. How can I put a longer delay so If I press 4 it waits longer before triggering multiple presses. It is way too sensitive...

I think this thread should be helpful.

Aloha,
Mike

Edit: I know very little about the firefly remote. The property settings in the above link will probably only work if the remote is natively supported by sage.

Hmm I have tried setting those values in Sage.properties and no dice. I don't have a sage client properties anywhere so I guess I don't use it. I set the delay up to 10000 milliseconds and noticed no difference.

Must be something specific I have to do on my Firefly receiver software

It is really annoying how often it is registering multiple button presses when I just casually press a button once!

There must be someone else who had this problem and knows what I'm talking about - please help me out here

Did you also increase infrared_receive_repeat_period?

yep. I'd change the values then shut down SageTv, start it up again and test it out.

I'm thinking SageTV is not governing the IR receiver because it's part of the Firefly software I installed?

You have to shut Sage down before editing the properties file.

Yes I did, I shut it down completely, and any time I try opening the properties file now I can go down to the relevant section and can see the values that I put in (which are now 10000 - or 10 seconds).

SageTV still is picking up multiple clicks very rapidly. This is probably my biggest annoyance right now with SageTV and it would make a really big difference if I can get this fixed

Any other ideas?

I created a new utility to replace the Firefly remote software and be an easier alternative to Girder, it may help your for the sensitivity of the remote (though I don't do anything special for sensitivity).

Regards,
Stéphane.
