USBUIRT Is Too Fast

Ok, I posted this on the usbuirt forums, but perhaps there's a sage fix for it as well.

Whenever I try to program my remote (DirecTV RC23) for sage through the usbuirt, I get buttons that when pressed once, often give "two presses" to sage. As in, if I'm hitting page down scrolling through menus, I may hit the button 4 times, but get 6 button presses in sage. It's quite annoying. I feel like I have to be some sort of stealth ninja whenever I hit a button on my remote, otherwise I'll get two instances of the button push in sage.

In fact, whenever I try to program the remote, trying to program "left" will take me back a page because it catches the IR for left, programs it, and gives sage another one after it's already programed. All from one button press.

Is there some way I can slow down the repeating of button presses in sage or the usb uirt?

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I tried to search for it, but honestly didn't know what to search for. (And found nothing helpful from what I did search for)

Thanks for your time.

Shut down sage and open your sage.properties file (or sageclient.properties if you are using the service). Find the following lines and increase the values (in milliseconds).

Code:
infrared_receive_repeat_delay=250
infrared_receive_repeat_period=150
Restart sage and test. Rinse and repeat until you find values that you are happy with. I found that I had to go to 500 and 250, respectively, and now it works like a charm.

Hope this helps.

Aloha,
Mike
