Single channel encoding glitches

I have SageTV, running in Service mode, using a WinTV-PVR 500. A few months ago recordings made on one channel started having some weird glitches where the picture might breifly jump a little, or there would be encoding errors with random partially rendered blocks on the screen. This might happen several times per minute, but only on that one channel, all the others seem to be fine. The errors are in the recorded file as playing it back with another player shows the same glitches. I've got the latest PVR 500 driver installed.

Has anybody seen something like this before?

Are you sure it's the capture and not the channel itself? I have one channel that does what sounds like the same thing. It drove me nuts trying to fix it. Turns out my problem is in the channel because it does it even when watching live TV through the tv's tuner.

Is it a fairly low numbered channel? My PVR500 causes so much signal loss on the lower channels (where most of my locals are) that it has been regulated to my 3 and 4th priority as far as tuners are concerned.

It's channel 6, but the other low numbered channels do fine.

I don't have a regular TV at this location so I can't test if a regular TV tuner would show problems as well. However it appears to be purely digital glitches, so I wouldn't expect an analog setup to show the same problems, but rather snow or fuzz, and I don't see either of those in between the glitches I do see.

Mine is only on channel 42 and it's crystal clear except for the glitches, which appear to be digital. For example this morning the bottom half of the screen was totally pixelated while the top half was perfect. I'm not saying your problem is the same, but with analog it's still possible to get glitches that appear digital.

Same here Paul...1 tuner on the board is snowy on channels 2-6, the rest are fine. The other tuner is perfect (on the same board).
