NVIDIA DualTV - No video seen

Hi everyone.

I'm building my HTPC and independent of SageTV, I cannot for the life of me view ANY video from the NVIDIA DualTV card.

I get audio but no video. I have the S-Video out on my DirecTV HTL-HD going to the Nvidia SVID 1 port and I see nothing. I've got the PureVideo codec installed and it is the latest.

I just thought I would post here since SageTV might be my PVR software choice.

Thanks!

I just tried installing SageTV and when I select the Video options to use S-Video, same thing... I get a black screen where I should see the TV signal and I hear the audio.

I'm not sure what to configure so this works. I can't even get Windows Media Player 10 to display a DVD. Same thing though.. I can hear the audio.

The lack of a display in windows media player makes me think you might have a problem with your video card or your video card drivers... have you tried installing the latest version from www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com?

Do you have the switch on the back of the receiver labeled "Type" switched towards the analog output instead of the HD digital outputs?

I tried flipping that switch but it didn't do anything.

I had an XP Pro install configured (dual boot) and it seemed to display TV from the capture card just fine.

For whatever reasons the MCE install just would not show any mpeg or decoder related video whatsoever.

It's helps to mention your OS in the first place! MCE has services that run and conflict with Sage and any other PVR app that access the hardware. There are 3 eHome services you have to stop before you can get Sage running on a MCE install. Search the forum.

If you are using dual displays, make the tv-out the 'primary' display -- Video playback never works too well on the secondary display
