Placeshifter

I'm connecting to my linux server with a windows placeshifter and it is maxing out my cpu resources and all jittery. The connection is being performed over 802.11g and the streaming statistics report 0. Could the transcoding be broken or incorrectly setup because I've noticed that the server has very little resource usage (~3%)? Also, my Sage.properties file shows this:

media_server/transcode_quality/DVD=-f dvd -b 4000 -s 720x480 -acodec mp2 -ab 128
media_server/transcode_quality/DVDAudioOnly=-f dvd -vcodec copy -acodec mp2 -ab 384
media_server/transcode_quality/mp3=-f dvd -vn -acodec copy
media_server/transcode_quality/music=-f dvd -vn -acodec mp2 -ab 64 -ac 2
media_server_port=7818

Thank you.

Did you try forcing lan mode? There should be enough bandwidth if your connection is good.

It wasn't using lan mode and from what I understand the server doesn't transcode when the client is on the same subnet. When I tried to manually specify the bitrate all I received was a black screen. Is this a sign that transcoding isn't working or is incorrectly setup? Below is the log output when I try doing it. Thanks.

My server has an Athlon64 X2 3800+ with 4gb of ram and a 320gb sataII drive. Its running Ubuntu Server (not the x64 version) with java version "1.5.0_06". I've attached some log files in case they may be of some use. Also, I had mentioned my cpu was maxing out on the client. This only appears to be the case if I mess around with the placeshifter settings and try to manually set something. If I leave the default settings alone after a little while it uses very little resources. Thanks a lot for your assistance.

Note: I just observed that if I back the current playback position off by a few seconds from live tv the jitteryness of the playback goes away or isn't as noticeable.
