Strange DVD Playback issue - unable to highlight menus
Hi all,
I'm having a strange problem with my dvd playback. I recently installed the latest sage and am using the SageMc stv. Upon starting a DVD in Sage, the DVD properly goes to the Root Menu. The problem is is when it get there, none of the choices on the menu are highlighted as they would be in a normal DVD player. I can actually navigate the menu, but I can't see what I'm doing. Has anyone else had this problem? Here's my requisite information: Video Decoder: Nvidia Post Processor Audio Decoder: Nvidia Audio Post Processor: FFdshow upconverting to 1776x1000 AnyDVD running in background Video Renderer: VMR9 FSE Audio Renderer: Reclock Video card: Radeon 9600xt Thanks for any help |

Try changing your DVD video renderer to overlay. That should take care of it until this bug is squashed. Several people (including myself) have seen this.
Aloha, Mike

Try setting the registry value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\SageTV\DirectX9\YUVMixing=0 and see if that fixes the issue for you.

Been meaning to post but my results but kept forgetting.
Unfortunately, the above fix didn't work for me but also introduced additional problems. After making the above change to the registry, I still was unable to navigate dvd menus. And upon making the change, the change introduced the bug described here: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ead.php?t=8831 which took me a bit to diagnose and figure out what the problem was. Now, doing a bit more investigating, it seems the problem lies between the Nvidia Post Processor. I've been using the following filter chain with ZoomPlayer for months before I switched over to Sage: VMR9 FSE+Nvidia Decoder+Nvidia Post Processor+FFdshow (upscaling to 1776x1000 and gradual denoising). Now choosing the Nvidia Post Processor in the DVD tab in Sage apparently leads to the inability to highlight menus. I tried changing the mpeg2 decoder to just the Nvidia decoder and I was able to navigate menus again. I hope this gets fixed soon as I've loved my previous filter chain and thought it produced the best results. |

I just tried this on two different boxes and it didn't work for either one. I'll turn in a bug report.

Do you have the latest Nvidia decoder? I recall having a similar problem with an older version of Theatertek 2, which also used nvidia decoders, and was fixed with a more recent update.

The YUXMixing setting works...but introduces problems elswhere. This has been around a while. Minor annoyance for me.

Same issue
I had just rebuilt my machine from scratch following a disk corruption problem and found this issue.
I solved it by changing the decoder to Nvidia instead of the post processor. The post processor that is installed is the latest Gold version of the PureVideo software. I hope this can be fixed soon but for now it is working. Eileen |
