Flying nine little squares
I'm seeing something very weird happen when I try to use the Elecard/Dscaler plug-in: a nine (3x3) set of little boxes begin to flash around my screen. Selecting different Dscaler modes doesn't seem to help. Selecting the Intervideo/Hauppage decoder gets rid of the problem. Any ideas?

I believe you're past the trial date of the Elecard decoder and will need to purchase it. When you do the dancing boxes go away. You can't just buy the decoder, you need to buy their player. Once you do you can then just install the decoders. Hope this helps.

SageTV doesn't install the Elecard decoder.

eswrite, you have loaded the 30 day trial version of the Elecard codec. The Elecard codec is required to use DScaler with the Haupauge PVR card. There is a link, somewhere in one of the forums , for a beta version of the Elecard codec which works pretty well. The beta version does not have a time limit and thus can be used for free forever, something to consider. Ofcouse, you could just buy the codec (do a google search on Elecard) as they codec works well and people who write good software should be compensated.

You can also use the free Intervideo ones that came with your Hauppauge if you don't want to spend the money. I think $20 though for their codecs are a steal compated to Cyberlink and WInDVD prices.
