Decreasing sound from DVDs
I have an odd problem: when I start playing a DVD, the sound level is fine. As the DVD progresses, the volume level drops steadily, requiring me to constantly turn up the TV volume.
Hopefully everyone remembers to turn the TV back down before watching TV (either live or recorded). Any ideas? Thanks in advance! --John |

I've seen this with AC3Filter when "Auto gain control" was selected with "One-pass norm". In that case, a loud sound that would cause clipping would make the gain automatically adjust down and then stay there. When I was using AC3Filter, I think I ended up turning off Auto gain control and adjusting the gains manually to a level that worked.
AC3Filter is packaged with SageTV, but I don't know what the default settings are. I had to download and install AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.net/) in order to get to the GUI control panel. |

There's a new version of AC3 available now that is really great. Works well with sage, too. See previous message for link.
