Cool new MP skin
This has nothing to do with Sage, but check out this new Media Portal skin.
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=17555 I may have to play around with some of her images to see if I can put together a new SageMC theme based off of this.

This is fairly straightforward... This is how I made the Razor Theme as well... Post the new 3DMP theme on the Sage Wiki and Sage Download site when you get it done... :-) http://www.sage-community.org/index....ageMC169Themes -Jason EDIT: Done... Download this file, extract it into your SageMC Folder within SageTV and add these lines to your sage.properties file (when Sage is completely shut down of course...) ui/themes/X/image_root=Images_Razor ui/themes/X/title=Razor ...where 'X' indates the number of themes that you have. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=100 Last edited by Jason; 08-04-2006 at 08:46 PM. |

Just a heads up. The download link doesn't seem to be working.

So, in your opinion (anyone that wants to respond), is the Razor or this new theme the best?

Ouch.
Well, I never got around to trying this out, but looks as if I won't get the chance. Sad to see that the MP community generally agrees that we shouldn't use their graphics. I totally agree with asking permission first, as was done before, with the first MP port, but sometimes, in the excitement of it all, that can be forgotten about. But that's no excuse. Next time, we should make an attempt at asking them before making any posts, or posting the download. Hopefully, we can avoid this from happening again.

Well personally I tried 3DMP but didn't really care for it. They can keep it!
Too bad some of the good will could not be shared as you were helping them with their DVD burning feature to begin with. From seeing MP I think they got some of their ideas and designs from elsewhere... |

Hmmm...I posted in the MP thread offering the use of any of my sageMC graphics as a goodwill offering to MP community. I guess that's lost in the ether now. Oh well, my post seemed to be completely ignored in subsequent posts before the thread was removed anyway.
Aloha, Mike

This was never a SageTv vs MP-thing. Just a hard working artist that suddenly saw all off her hard (and free) work beeing used by a commercial application.

I agree her permission should have been sought before using it, but the reaction was a little extreme. I was amazed at all the talk of a lawsuit over a few graphics before even talking to the other party. Especially when no one involved was making a profit from using them. Anyway it's good that everyone involved agrees the skin shouldn't be used. Last edited by blade; 08-23-2006 at 05:59 PM. |
