This works fine for me: sage prompts to cancel the manual recording of one or the other of the 2 shows (I also have 2 tuners)...

Do you have 2 different lineups on each tuner? Were you watching one of the shows on another client/extender? (and hence the tuner was 'busy' and could not be used for another recording)

Hi Deadbolt,

sorry, although this is certainly possible, since I started using SageMC I really don't have the motivation (and time) to write additional imports for the default STV any more.

But it's really not complicated, and I am sure someone else will soon provide this feature for the default STV too.

For the SageMC users: I just posted v6.7 of SageMC, which includes this functionality.

I see this question all the time and frankly it puzzles me.

Do I have the only version of SageTV where you press the record button to start recording, and press it again and get a pop-up asking if you want to

"cancel this recording"

Press Record again.

The entire point of this thread is that:

This does not work for favorite recordings
The recording is deleted if it is incomplete.

If I choose "Cancel" when prompted to stop recording show #1, it just takes me right back to the program guide and doesn't watch/record my chosen show. There's no option to stop recording show #2.

Very annoying and big WAF minus.
I also have this problem with the pvr 500 thru the mvp. I do have two seperate channel listings, one for the cable box (2-999) the other basic cable(2-77). When I want to switch to the other tuner to keep recording one channel but record another it always wants to cancel the recording I want to continue. I've tried stoping/canceling/set as watched the program I want to discontinue but sage always wants to cancel the tuner/program I want to continue. This is on the lower channels so it doesn't have anyting to do with the cable boxes upper channels(I think). This has happened to me more than once and I woud like to know how to deal with these situations.

let me drag this up from obscurity (1st thread that hit my search terms)...

scenario: happened today, NASCAR got rained out and the favorite is scheduled to record for another 3hrs. I'd really like to stop the recording now and ditch the file.

Set don't like or watched. wait for recording to stop, delete.

Or use my multifunction stop plugin to stop recording immediately, then set dont like or watched, then delete

(the reason for setting don'tlike or watched is to prevent recording from being restarted once you delete the file.)

nevermind... I should have waited longer to post. When I got back from the store recording had stopped and the file deleted. impatience will do me in some day; Sage took longer than a few min to get the hint.

So, any new solutions about this?

I'm currently searching everywhere how to stop but NOT delete a favorite which is set to stop 30 minutes after the "official" end. --> kind of like we used to do in those VCR days!

The race stopped earlier than what planned TV guide and I would like to stop that favorite but i have no option to do that . I really don't want to lose the show by setting a wrong parameter.

Regards.

P.S.: I'm using the standard STV and don't plan to switch as it's the only one running on MVPs.

I'm currently running the MC16x9 STV with MVPs. It works quite nicely.

Thanks for replying so fast,

A couple of things though:
Nielm, nowhere in the above posts it has been said that a good fix was found for the FAVORITE case. Also, your link is not working right now so I'll try later on.

tchapin, I read in some posts that all the functions implemented in other STV UI where not 100% fully compatible with the MVPs. Maybe i misunderstood .... I'll give it a try then !

Regards.

UPDATE: the link is back on!
