Thanks for trying to fix it. I kinda painted myself into a corner. I dont have an STV "without" Web Radio 1.0 anymore. My STV has lots of personal customizations that arent from just stvi imports

So, as a workaround you can either revert to a previous version of the entire stv that does not include webradio 1.0 or you start with the original stv and import all your stvi's.

Hope I can fix the problem soon.

Removed webradio 1.0 from your stv. Now you can import v1.1 without problems. See attachment.

Fix in v1.1 stvi will follow later.

Minor Issue with Sleep

Chris, I'm sure you probalby already know about this...

But, if I hit the Power button on my TV remote, it close SageTV, stop Web Radio ...but then the SageTV media player starts ...so, I can hear the TV while sageTV is sleeping in the system tray.

I actually kind of like the idea that Web Radio continues to play when SageTV is in the system tray. Whaever you end up doing, I think you might want to take a closer look at why the SageTV player starts up again. For some reason, I thought this was working at some point. No?

EDIT: I think I'm going crazy.. .it works for soem reason now... Weird.... nevermind As I said it works perfectly now.

Just for fun, I tried using the SageTV sleep timer addon with Web Radio. The Sleep timer did close sageTV and stop web radio, but the TV audio started back up again. It would be nice if it worked, but no big deal.

This looks great but I would second the hopes that other formats could be supported.

Would it be possible to use mplayer as this supports realaudio, wma and mp3 streams?

Alternatively how about using Softsqueeze (which is written in Java) and the Slimserver. The AlienBBC plugin for the slimserver uses mplayer to transcode realaudio and wma into streaming MP3 on the fly.

Thanks for all the hard work (I wish that I had the skills to help out).

Cheers

Eric

There are hundreds of popular shoutcast radio stations already... the most popular radio station are simulcasted to Windows Media Player and Real Player streams as well. I personally think shoutcast has the most variety and overall most selection of music.

I'm guessing that supporting softsqueeze and/or pandora.com would be an entirely different plugin..

Ive been totally enjoying this plugin, and now, I feel it is very polished and solid with the latest Web Radio 1.1 release.

Chris you're our hero!

Has anyone put together a nice stationlist.txt that they would want to post?

Hey I see a huge bug with this 1.1
It screws up the display every other menu except for the web radio menu!!!
What happend to my new favorite STVi?
Roll back to previous version and everything is fine (except for the fact that I have to use v1.0)

EDIT: I had to go back and import the STVi I was using prior to installing any version of the Webradio.. so in short there is still a problem with the latest release and upgrading from 1.0

I'm not sure if you've been following this thread recently.... I'm guessing you're talking about the same thing. It's definately fixed... you need the latest version of 1.1

..well that is if we're talking about the same thing...

I restored my sagetv directory to exactly how it was prior to importing Web Radio 1.1 (with Web Radio 1.0)

Then, I extracted all the files from the latest Web Radio 1.1 into the appropriate directories.

After I import the web radio 1.1 STVi, SageTV's UI (Program Guide) and other screens get messed up. See attachment.

The older version doesn't do this.

I was playing with the skip fwd #2 and find that when I get to the last station in the list and hit skip fwd #2 again it hangs. I expected it to roll over to the first station in the list. I was checking to see how it would work without my PJ turned on.

Anyone else see this?

Shoutcast may offer a good selection of music, but unfortunately the BBC only offers its live streams or its on demand radio in either WMA or Real. For us Brits abroad the BBC is internet radio.

Cheers

I can not reproduce this. skip fwd #2 (CTRL-F8) works fine and rolls over from last staion in list to first one. Are you sure the first and last stations from your list work if you select them directly from the list by either play command or enter?

Odd, I just tried it again this AM and it works fine. Maybe one of the stations was having issues last night as all I got was the spinning SageTV logo. Everything works fine now.

thanks,

Eric,

Here's a thought.. Load your favorite stream up in VLC and have it retransmit to a shoutcast stream to localhost where you could pick it up in SageTV. I know this sounds ugly, but it should work. I was able to listen to a Real stream in VLC, I haven't tried the rest though.. Leaving town today and no time..

Now if you wanted to load a few streams perhaps it could be done with a batch/vbs script file? Then use the launch external program stvi to define station selections by passing command line arguments to the batch/script..

So you could start your stream, then "tune" in with the web radio.

If this isn't done in a few weeks, I will look at writing it up. Should be fun.

I was importing and upgrading with the latest version 1.1
What I had to do was roll back to a STV version I had backed up prior to ANY web radio installations and import 1.1. Upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1 is what corrupted all my menus. I read the threads and even used the updated STVi that was supposed to fix some upgrade problems but alas, I still experienced issues. No matter because I have it working now. One

REQUEST! Can the STOP button function in the next release? I know it works when you are in the web radio menu but once you leave the menu it doesn't function.

MVP Support

I've read throught the tread, and see that MVP is not supported at this time. Is there a thought to add this?

Nice program.

MVP & Placeshifter support certainly would be nice. I'm guessing Chris would only be motivated to get it to work *IF* he even has MVP/Placeshifter to test with.

I really like being able to use custom2 to get to the web radio, thus allowing me to listen without turning on my PJ.

Right now I cycle through the channels using the skip fwd #2 and skip bkwd #2. Would it be possible to hit a number and to to that channel? Basically start numbering them from 1 - n, then if you hit 10, go to channel 10.

This way I could map the channels to numbers in my remote and be set

thanks again!
