Dynamic Menu Icons
I know this is mentioned in the help/faq, but I just got around to implementing this and it's pretty cool. If you open menu.xml, for each (or most) entries, there is a link to the folder where the icons should be placed, and their name. I created the dynamic_menu_icons folder where menu.xml was looking for it and inside placed the icons with the name menu.xml was looking for (Or you can change the path). I downloaded a bunch of skins from the Media Portal and XLobby sites and used some beautiful looking transparent .pngs. Thanks to those people and thanks neilm!

I must have missed that in the faq because it is the $#@! So easy to implement even i could do it. I checked out Media Portal and XLobby and as you did and downloaded some skins, borrowed a few icons. Props to whoever made these little blue doods. (they are in so many skins i figured it would be ok to use them myself) I dont understand why Sage doesn't come with some sort of icons by default, because they are an awesome addition and make my Sage Media Center much more unique. Here's a Screenshot of my SageTV main menu with the little blue dood icons! |

I believe the Sage default stv is so bare by design in order to allow us to deviate dramatically from it. In the end it allow us to each have very unique experience. Having these things in core would take the fun out of customizing.
