New PVR 250 with grey static

Hey again,

Has anyone run into problems with the PVR-250 on the Linux OEM version of the software? I get a grey static-y window whenever I try to view Live Tv or record a program. I don't get a "no signal" error at any time, so I'm thinking there must be something coming through. How does one change or view the frequencies for the card in the Linux version of Sagetv?

thanks!

Could you try the composite or svideo input? It seems you also have a bt878 card, you might want to try to remove it.

Cool composite

I tried the composite conection, it's a little better as in it's not grey static, just white and black horizontal lines, can't see anything else.

I'll try removing the other win-tv card. I'm jsut not sure that would be causing an issue, but odder things have happened.

Arrrggg

I have to say SageTv isn't doing well, so far I have not been able to get it working as it should, still no video and intermitten audio. I am really disaapointed. How do you get your money back?

Are you sure the pvr-250 card is good? This looks quite strange.

I had it working in MythTV just before I wiped the my box and installed SageTV.

And yes it's very strange...

Can you set debug_logging=TRUE in your /opt/sagetv/usr/Sage.properties file while the sagetv process is not running? Then reproduce the problem and post your sageout.txt file from the /opt/sagetv/app/ folder here.

Same problem with PVR 500 on 4.1.6

When I run my hardware with MythTV/Debian I get pictures on both PVR 500 channels. When I run Sage/Gentoo, both channels get detected but show only static. Let's assume it's not a hardware issue, what's the next thing to look at ? Is there a way to run Sage on any of my other boxes with RedHat or Debian?

Thanks,
Rene

You could try to change which inputs are mapped by modifying tv_tuner_input_num in the Sage.properties file.

You can try to run dmesg when it boots to see if it detects the tuner properly, have you tried the composite or svideo input?
