divx, xvid decoding
I recently downloaded the latest version of Divx (6.1). I'm planning to use it to transcode my videos to mpeg4. Currently, I use xvid, but I'm planning to get a MediaMVP which only supports Divx.
When I play a Divx encoded file with the Divx decoder, I get vertical stripes in my video. When I play the same file on a different PC using the Xvid decoder, the picture looks perfect. I've searched the net and found several people having this problem. It seems to be a problem with the Divx decoder. My question is, how do I force playback using the Xvid decoder instead of the Divx decoder? Alternatively, is there any way to leave the Divx encoder but remove the Divx decoder?

I think the MVP also supports XVID transcoding (and probably anything else that ffmpeg supports).
