SageTV Client 4.1.10 problems

Hello,
I'm having a problem with using the SageTV client with my server.
I have been trying to use it both through local network and the internet.
While using my local network I am able to get live TV and import all videos but I can't change a channel. If I try to select a different channel from the EPG I get an error messege saying: "There was an error playing: ERROR (-9): All encoders are in use by clients viewing "Live" TV".
However, while connection through the internet I'm not able watching anything. If I try to get live TV I get to see nothing on screen (not even the program info even though I can see the EPG correctly). When I try to get to a video file things are getting worse. The error messege that I get is: ERROR (-2): Files selected for playback are no longer are on disk".
When I check the system info I see that options like Default Quality, Country, Video Format and etc. are set to NULL unlike the way it is when I'm connected through the local network.
The following ports are open in my router/firewall: 7760,7818,42024,8270 and 31099.
Could anyone please help me out here so I could use the SageTV client properly over the internet?
Thanx.

It sounds like you have live tv playing on the server too... if you do: you can't change the live channel on one system while another one is watching live TV at the same time on the same tuner & when there isn't another available tuner to use.

The Placeshifter client is more intended for usage over the internet, but you could see this discussion: Client Over Wan.

I dont suppose this is anything that could be added as an option is it? Something like a dialog box that could pop up and ask if the user wants to take control of the tuner? Maybe its not possible, but would be nice to have in a case where I may be upstairs and want to access a certain tuner, but forgot to sleep a client (or server) downstairs.

Or is this you evil little plan to get me to go up and down my stairs countless times to try and teach me a lesson?

No, it is intended to lower marital disharmony (WAF: Wife Anger Factor?) when live TV is on at 2 places simultaneously... by preventing one user from changing what the other one is watching. I think the better solution would be to have 2 tuners so each person could watch separate shows if they want.
