Does this work with Ver6? If so can Ver6 read the XML file for Imports? Or does any other plug-in allow Sage to read them? After I record something I cut out commercials and move the file to an import directory and since upgrading to Ver6 the My files I used to create with GermSage no longer show details...

Is there a way to convert from a .my file to a .xml file? I'm trying to import some recordings but I only have a .my file to work with. Any thoughts?

I could make a script to do the conversion myself. I just need to know what the minimum .xml file must have to be accepted. There's a lot of extra info in the .xml file that isn't in the .my file.

I use the xml files as sort of a last ditch recovery method if I were ever to completely lose my wiz.bin.

I keep a constant 10-day backup of my important sage files on 2 separate computers, so the chance of needing it are remote. But it doesn't hurt to have an altenative way of importing my existing recordings into a new wiz.bin if I needed to.

* Fixed bug preventing XML files from being generated
I have just downloaded and installed as per the instructions this great plugin on three of my sage servers, It is only working on one.

The one that is working I had to do a fresh install of sage to get to work. I don't want to have to go through the same process with the other two.

I have SageTV beta v6.4.4 installed - Is there some incompatibility between this plugin / the webserver plugin or the imdb plugin? What is the best way to troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks

Anne

Aren't you running as a network encoders? Are these separate units now? In network encoder mode, I would expect only the master server to have impact. Caveat, I have never tested that logic though. Are the files for all recordings being placed in the master recording directory?

Gave up on the network encoder idea because of the different subnet issues and need to keep at least 14 days historical epg data, so now they are 3 separate installs, . The metadata files and mpg are stored centrally and i am creating a web app with an access db at the backend (with docs help) to merge all the recording information together.

The strange thing about the xml generator plugin is that it worked first attempt on my test system.

I finally found what was stopping the xml file generator from working - it was the xerces.jar in the jars folder. Seems I was using a very old version of the multiple lineup xmltv import plugin. The PC that was working didn't have the xmltv plugin installed!

Its working great now.

central location for xml files

is there a way to have all the xml files in a seperate location instead of on the drives where the recordings are?

Hello,
