Unhappy Recording schedule filling itself

Ok having a weird problem. My EPG had the wrong things listed for a channel (Cartoon Network) due to their changing their schedule and zap2it apparently not getting the change. To make sure I went through the setup for the EPG again and made sure I was pulling the correct info etc...
Flash forward to the next evening and now my hard drive has nearly filled itself up with random programs being captured and the recording schedule being filled the next few days to come with random stuff. Like something every 30 minutes almost.
I deleted the extra recordings that were made but there are still a ton of items in the recording schedule and I cannot seem to get them to drop. I have set many of them to "Dont like" but it looks like it is still going to capture them because they stay on the list.
Anyone else have this happen and also/instead: How do I blast the recoding schedule without uninstalling and reinstalling or can that be done? My normal favorites are still in the list, I just have a ton of others I need gone but the easier way is to blast it all and then re-add those favorites again.
*-also as an FYI, even though its just filling randomly...it has not ended up with any recording conflicts....just found that odd-*

It sounds like you have Intelligent Recording enabled in Detailed Setup -> General. See the Quick Start Guide, starting on p. 18 in the v4.1 PDF manual. If you are new to SageTV, I suggest waiting to get some viewing history before turning on IR, or just let it do its stuff as you let it know what you don't like.

When you mark a show as Don't Like in the schedule, it isn't removed immediately; it is removed the next time the schedule gets fully updated. Give it time to determine the schedule after marking some things as Watched or Don't Like.

... or use my 'intelligent Suggestions STVi (also in the webserver) which uses the IR engine to suggest recordings for you, without actually scheduling them
