XMLTVImportPlugin. Stoped working

After working fine for months there seem to be a problem with my XMLTV import.
The download from the provider works fine and the updated epgdata.xml file is readily available in the SageTV directory. As of now only data from today and forward are available.

When opening SageTV the TV guide shows "no data" for today and the next days. However if I scroll back a couple of days there is data, (which is not in the epgdata.xml file). It is old data.

When looking in Setup/System information:
Last EPG Update: <now>
Next EPG Update in: 0 minutes

I noted that the Java installation auto-updated a couple of days ago. Can this be an issue?

Anyone whom can help me out here?

Regards

Stephen

I've had similar problems, although slightly different. After an update to Java (1.5.0_05) the XMLTV parser stopped working. My problem was that the EPG was not updated with newer shows. After two weeks the EPG contained "no data" only. A friend of mine had exactly the same issue with Java.

Suggestion: Solve this issue by reverting back to the previous Java Runtime version. Open regedit, search for "Java Runtime Environment" (under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, JavaSoft). Open key "CurrentVersion" and change to your the version in use previous to the last update. Then force an EPG update to verify that the problem is solved. I've reverted back to 1.4.2_10.

One of the most likely cause is that when Java auto-updates, extra JAR files in jare_x_y_z/lib/ext are not copied over to the new installation, which means that you will be missing xerces.jar...

Either copy xerces.jar to SageTV/JARs directory to make it java-version-independant, or copy xerces.jar each time to the new jre_x_y_z/lib/ext directory.

Hi,

need some help !

I have the same problem with the XMLTV import with one exception.
There was no Java auto-update on my PC.

Has anybody an idea what the cause for my problem is ?

Thanks, of course you were correct, that solved it all. Anyway this tought me how to control the Java version used, which could come in handy some day...

Thank you for your help.
