Question Best Commercial Detection

Hi folks,

I've been running Sage 4 for about 10 days on the trial. Last thing I want to try before I purchase a key is commercial detection. I'm looking for advice on what the best way is to achieve this?

Use something like Malores plugin thingy?
Use Showanalyser only?
Use Comskip Only?

I'm a little lost on this one, thanks in advance for your help.

Keith

You have to use malore's plugin plus one of the two comercial skip programs you mentioned. I'm using SA since it is continually being developed and has improvements being made with every new release.

kaudley, what Malore's plugin does it read the files that ComSkip and SA output. Then it allows for the skipping of a commercial by pressing the Custom5 button (you'll have to assign something to it) or there is a way to set it up to auto-skip commercials. I think ComSkip development is probably done and SA is the way to go for detecting commercials.

hmmmm. OK I have everything running pretty good, commercial detection is running along doing it's thing, everything setup and running in the background. I installed Malores STV.... and I hate it. I prefer the clean commercial look of the stock Sage stv. Is there a way that I can get just the menu options and the auto scanning of my shows without all of the other junk I don't want/need?

Look in the downloads area, there are separate imports to address those two issues.

To me SageMC is really clean...it is working great with SA for me. You may want to try it out.

Yes, nielm has an STVI import for the default SageTV STV/XML file that just adds commercial skipping to the default Sage interface. Nothing else will be changed with his import.
