Firewire and Linux Sage

Question about this experimental firewire support. Has anyone test it out and is there a list of known STBs that work?

And are there instructions posted somewhere to set it up?

Being that I played with the Linux version of Sage yet (or really Linux in years) I am wondering if I should go with the Linux model now. Firewire support is holding me back though.

I woudn't currently use firewire as the primary source of recording until it has matured a bit more...

Well I'm not really planning on it as the primary but it is something I want to play with. It's just I don't want to spend $80 on software that I may not even use. if I knew for a fact that it worked, and I have a DTC-6200 box, I would go ahead and start using it.
