On screen program description/Skinning

Does anyone have a screenshot of what the on screen display looks like when you are watching a program in regards to the description. I looked and all I found was a picture of the program name and time, but no description.

Also, are there plans to add skinning (like WinAmp) to control backgrounds, fonts, colors, buttons.

I read here on the forums about a version coming out that can do this, but it sounded like a build your own from one of our older versions, and not a current version skinning ability.

There is no real skinning at present. Just the ability to customize a lot(but not all) of the features you mentioned.

As for the future... Sage Studio(Sage2) should allow all of that with no problem. People will be able to share their modifications with each other once Sage studio comes out. Most of the older users on this site will tell you this is the best possible future. Since it allows Narflex to focus on what he does best, improving the Sage engine code base. The UI is a very personal thing and best left up to individuals. Of course having said that I'll probably just modify one of the "skins" that one of the more artistic users creates.

If you haven't read it already, this thread will give you the official story on Sage2.

PS:Here's a cut from a screen capture of a show I was just recording. I hope it gives you what you were after. The description size varies from show to show.

Thanks justme. Is there a way to get the program description on the screen while watching the program? Like a overlay on the top or bottom of the screen?

Also Sage 2 sounds great after reading that thread, I wonder if I should wait until that comes out before I purchase anything (unless it will be a free or discounted upgrade)?

As stated in the thread it will be a free upgrade for all registered users.

You could wait, but since the underlying functionality probably won't change much it won't hurt to get setup now.

As for show descriptions, as a screen overlay, not yet. But is on the official feature request list. Lots of people want that one.

As for Sage2, according to the thread it will be a free upgrade. Here is a Quote from Dan(Frey's CEO) " new version will be available to all current registered users of SageTV at no cost." So don't worry if you like what you've seen so far buy SageTV. Narflex(the programmer behind Sage) is the most open person to user feedback I've ever meet.
The rate of progress is incredible. Almost about .1 version every month and a half. ie I bought Sage at 1.2.8 about 5 monthes ago. It's now at version 1.4.10. Heck it didn't even have DVD support til this latest release.

So to make a long story short. Buy it, you'll love it.

Edit: Once again I typed too slow, or too long.

I thought sage2 is going to be a free upgrade, however the studio app (which is solely for skinning and design was going to be a seperate cost.
