150/500 Drivers

Just saw they had a Jan 6th release. CD 3.1a. Just installed 5 minutes ago, no problems yet.

Hi,
I updated my pvr-150 drivers but used the NON-MCE ones (Dec. 28, '05) since I don't have a 150mce. I formerly had no sound on 4 channels and with the update NO sound on ANY channel. I wrote Hauppauge and am waiting to hear back. I also updated video decoder update (Hauppauge Video Decoder version 5) so maybe that is the problem. I noticed that under MCE updates they had the cd 3.1 (Jan. 6) that you mention but also they list the file I used 20 35 23348 and said it was for "no audio on some channels". It says to install just that file; when I installed it for the pvr-150 it also gives another file "driver updater" (22 23257) to ASLO install after the first file. Anybody know what the deal is with this? When I get home I will have to find my old drivers and roll-back to them (and use HCW Clear probably).
Thanks for any help.
Randy

I don't know, I actually just downloaded the 23348 drivers and ran the HCWInstall (or something like that) program. Rebooted, and all is fine.

You might check your individual cards to see which driver version they are using. If they're not running 23348, then update them the "old-fashioned" way through the driver update wizard in device manager.

Hope you get things working...

BTW, you mentioned the Hauppauge decoder. Have you tried another decoder to see if you get sound when using it? In other words, perhaps the cards are okay, but the decoder is hosed?

Just tossing out ideas. Good luck!

I honestly don't think there is any solution to missing audio on some channels when using PVR-150 cards on certain hardware platforms. I really have tried everything remotely feasible and the only thing that works as a fully functional additional tuner for me is a non-PVR-150 tuner. If SageTV offered the same channel fine-tuning as WinTV then you could manually get the missing audio to work but every driver update that comes along from Hauppauge seems to make the issue worse (i.e. no sound on any channel).
