Feature request: "real" archiving!
So here's one that doesn't seem like it would be too hard to implement (yeah I know everyone says that )... when I choose to "archive" a program, instead of just setting a flag in the database (never really understood the usefulness of this), how about move the file to a different location? The location could be set on the one of the Setup screen menus.
I've got several computer networked. For performance reasons, I have Sage recording to its local HD. It would be nice to have an easy automated way to offload files to another machine on the network, and still have Sage aware of the files and be able to access them from "Sage recordings".

Still the only feature I miss about BTV is the ability to record a favorite to it's own location.
I am no programmer but it seems like an easy thing to incorporate now that shows in the archive section keep it's details. When recording a favorite that goes into a folder other then the Default recording folder it gets auto archived so it still shows up in the TV recordings menu.

Just wanted to chime in and DITTO both suggestions. If you can delete an imported file you should be able to move it as well.

I mentioned in another post that it would be great if when Archiving a movie, that it strips out the commercials.
Archiving should be a process of "preparing" a movie for long storage - no commercials needed. |

That would be a great notion, but even as great as ShowAnalyzer is it does have difficulty with some episodes that may have a lot of night scenes. I would not want to blindly trust it to take my commercials out and archive them completely. It could be implemented as a configurable option on the archive if you are sure the commercials are flagged correctly and not to do it if they are not. I could be OK with that
