Capturing Stream Music to create MP3's

Is there a way to capture live streaming music from a cable turner box and produce MP3's files with hopefully correct file names associated with the MP3?

I get the music channels on my cable turner box and was wondering if there was a way to automatically create MP'3's from that stream?

I know that I can record the music channels as movies (I think), but I would imagine that the files would be rather large and I guess the recordings would not have a title?

Would be great to have this feature/plug-in for MP3's

I don't know how to go about this with Sage, but if you run audio out on the box to line-in on the motherboard or soundcard...you can record with Audacity and turn them into MP3's.

Is there a channel line up available but for the music channels showing what music will be coming up next?

I imagine not since that would make it easy for anyone to come up with a large MP3 library of music by simply recording the music channels and creating MP3's with proper names via the channel line up information.

If no such beast is avaialble, anyone working on capturing streaming music of the music channels to create MP3's?

Capture Music Stream

Got to this site. This software will capture any stream that is coming out of your sound card to MP3, WAV, WMV. Go to bottom of page. It's FREE!

You would have to have your satellite box/cable box with your music channels go through your compture to do this of course.
I've done this several times.

Couldn't you just separate the audio and video streams from the MPG's and convert that to MP3's? Can't say I know anything about it but I remember reading posts about this (splitting audio & video) when people wanted to put DVD's through an MVP with Matt's client.

Yes, that part is easy. I am talking about an automated way by which the MP3's are automatically created with the correct file name of the song.
