mvp video
I am having this probelm too, and for me it is a show stopper. I was a trial user and won't become a licensed user untill they fix this issue. Everything works excellent for me except the brightness/contrast issue. I know this is not a limitation of the mediamvp because I have also used gbpvr and with that software the brightness/contrast can be adjusted on the mvp. I hope this is fixed soon because this is a very impreesive alternative to tivo.

Obviously I realize not everybody has a TV that can do this, but if you do, you can set your brightness and contrast per input. Many newer TVs do have this functionality.

Are you saying that GBPVR (free software) has a fix for this? If so, I am currenly trying out SageTV via the 15 day trial and would seriously consider GBPVR over SageTV if it fixes the brightness issue on the MediaMVP. Last edited by joe123; 01-17-2006 at 03:06 PM. |

Well with GBPVR you will have a better experience with brightness/contrast on the MVP once configured. Aside from that however, Sagetv blows GBPVR out of the park as far as MVP support goes. The delays when pressing a key or changing the channel are unbearable when compared to Sagetv. Sagetv beats GBPVR hands down on MediaMVP support. I don't mean to knock GBPVR, it's actually an incredible piece of software for the price (free). For me personally I'd rather pay the fee for Sagetv because it is much more refined, customizeable, and stable. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed hoping they add brightness/contrast to MediaMVP output soon. I think the ability to manually adjust and presets such as Movie, Sports, etc. would be great.

Also, I was looking at 3 or maybe 4 MVP's overall in my house. SageTV at $80 bucks PLUS $30 bucks for each MVP, well at $200 bucks with something as defective as not being able to watch TV on my MVP correctly .... |

We are investigating the video levels. As far as we know, other software adjust the recording level to compensate.

As for the comment above, GBPVR corrects the PLAYBACK and not the recording level to compensate. I was able to adjust GBPVR Contrast setting for the MVP while watching LIVE TV on the MVP. Hope this helps. |

It now makes sense why the image was "brighter" than normal when I watch Live TV on the computer screen as well. |
