no, you can only hide them by disabling them (I have 4 duplicate channels due to grabber changes)..

Tip for things like this: always backup wiz.bin before major changes (I do it weekly anyway)

maybe it coudl be a good place to ask sage in ver 4.1 to split (only) channels to seperate file, so that we could delete it without having duplicates...
who is backing this proposal?

I've never had to do it but I would have assumed removing all the sources you have then adding them back in would have worked.

Hello

Have you tried assuming you have remapped the channels, putting them back to the orignal channelnumber. This has worked for me several times.

You have to remap the stations without any data. I had at sometime all my stations triple. When sorting those i discoverd that when i tried to unremap the dataless stations to get a clearer lineup they disapeard from the channel lineup(after selecting done) Could be that sage looks in the epgdatafile when remapping a station for some form of id and can't find it for the obselete stations. But I am using version 2.6rc1 so it could have changed in version 4.

tried everything, nothing works, the only way is (and i don't like it) to disable the duplicated (run on each), and they still remain, only inactive.
I'm considering to delete the wiz.bin (and I'll lost my recordings...).
if sage developers, could look into it and split the file (or add erase epg data) so that we'll not have duplicates it would be the best.

whats the problem with them? If you disable them in source setup/channel line up, they get hidden and you never see them in the EPG.

As mentioned before, I have been running with 4 duplicates of some channels (and 2 duplicates of others) due to XMLTV grabber switching, and they have been like that for 2 years...

The only other thing you could do is change your XMLTV plugin -- it might configure itself as a different lineup (but you would have to remap all your channels again)... The old lineup with the duplicates would still be in the DB though...

The problem is that at least in my set-up, disabled channels remain in the EPG with "NO DATA" showing. Been that way since 2.x, now in the current release. Any ideas? Thanks!

Deleting the wiz.bin file will not delete your duplicate channels.

The channel lineups are all stored in the Sage.properties file.

In Sage.properties, you will find a line that contains your lineup name. IE:
epg_data_sources/XXXXXXXX/epg_name=YYYYYY

The XXXXXXXX is the data source ID and the YYYYYY is the lineup name (for example "Dish Network - USA". Move a few lines down in the file and you will find the line:

epg_data_sources/XXXXXXXX/provider_id=ZZZZZZZZ

The ZZZZZZZZ is the channel lineup id. Look through the properties file and you will find a line like:

epg/channel_lineups/ZZZZZZZZ=AAAA,BBBB,AAAA,BBBB&CCCC.....

The data that follow this line is the channel data for that provider, where AAAA is the channel id and BBBB is the channel number. The ampersand and CCCC indicate that the channel id is mapped to 2 (or more) different channel numbers (like when Dish Network has a channel on more than one satellite).

IF you delete the epg_data_sources/XXXXXXXX lines, SageTV will reload the data source completely.

You can also force SageTV to download the channel lineup again by setting:
epg_data_sources/XXXXXXXX/chan_download_complete=false

You can force SageTV to download the EPG data for a lineup by setting:
epg_data_sources/XXXXXXXX/last_run=0
epg_data_sources/XXXXXXXX/expanded_until=0

NOTE: back up EVERYTHING before you play with these settings!! This information was gleaned from my (sucessful) attempt to get the Internal (zap2it) EPG and XMLTV PPV EPG working together in v4.1.11beta. Your results may vary and backing up your install is the ONLY way to ensure that you aren't bitten in the a** if something goes wrong.

Regards!

Hi ,
Sorry to dig up this old[ish] thread, but has anything changed to allow channels to enabled BUT hidden in the EPG. (im currently using Original Sage UI 5.04)
I ask because of the superb way Sage currently handles my favourites/recording schedule i have now ADDED +1 hour channels to my channel lineup.. Sage does a great job at finding the optimal recording schedule with the +1 channels included, but i really don`t like seeing the +1 channels listed in the EPG,i added the channels purely to give Sage favourites/recordings more options.

Im guessing what Nielm said, still stands, but thought i would ask anyways.

Perhaps check out the Favorite Channels customization, linked somewhere in the List of available customizations.
