SageClient Channel Changes
Forgive me if this has been addressed before (or if it's in the documentation).
I'm testing the latest (well, rc1) beta Client with the corresponding SageTV software. Everything seems to be working fine, except I can't seem to change live channels from the client. The server currently uses an IR-Blaster to change the cannel on my Samsung DirecTV box. Changing channels from the server works fine - changing from the client does not. Am I doing something wrong, or is the remote changing functionality not included in the Client software? Thanks for any help, Darryl |

It should work fine. Please post your sageclient_0.txt log file here or email it to support so I can take a look at it.

Jeff,
Thanks for the quick response - I'll post it when I get home tonight. PS - Looking for any Linux Client beta testers? Darryl |

Ah, I asked about a linux client over two monthes ago.
Seriously, after Sage Studio goes out I feel that it's time to port the client to the other popular OS's. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck with your client's channel situation. |

Doh!
!!!!! User Error !!!!! my interpretation of "select" from the SageTV guide meant "double click" (instead of select and press enter). Needless to say, I had a lot of recordings... Everythings seems to be working great! Thanks for the prompt response, Darryl |

In theory, since a good portion of SageTV is in Java, it should be very portable. I wonder, tho, if it would be possible to publish the network protocol so some in the user community could work on non-windows clients? My guess is that the answer would be NO for two reasons: 1) it would cut into sales (even a cheezy client could do this) and 2) it isn't mature enough to support this effort. It doesn't hurt to ask, does it? |
