Firewall and port numbers
I've been having this problem for awhile now. I've got a firewall set up and in order to download the EPG data, I have to disable security, refresh the EPG data via the setup wizard, then re-enable the security. When I got SageTV I was too savvy on the firewall stuff, but I've had to add ports for other software now.
Can you tell me the port numbers I need to add to my firewall to allow SageTV to get its EPG data? Thanks. --peter

EPG data is on TCP 7760 (its in the manual too)

Who reads the manual? :-)
Thanks. That worked perfectly.

Do EPG updates require inbound connections? (Meaning, if all outbound connections from my LAN are allowed through my firewall, should I have to open up a port for Sage to grab the EPG data?) I don't like poking holes in my wall.

I haven't had to forward ports for this - I think that Sage initiates the request/update, so no port forwarding should be necessary.

I concur. You shouldn't need to do anything on the firewall.
