IrRemote.exe
Hello All,
The IrRemote.exe ... the little file that came with the Hauppauge remote control ... that is needed to accept the remote control commands. I am having to manually start this file to get my remote control working with each reboot of the PC. Is there a way to have this file run as a service or start whenever the PC is rebooted ? Thanks Craig

It should just start by itself. I would try reinstalling the IR remote driver. If it still doesn't behave you can always add irremote.exe to the windows startup group.

Still ... no luck !!
I am having to manually start the (Ir.exe) remote controller application. ( I guess I'll check with Hauppauge on that one) thanks for the reply -Craig

Just put a shortcut to the app in your startup directory:
Usually C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup You can right drag the .exe and then click "Create Shortcut Here". Anything in that directory will start every time you log on as that user. Running it as a service can be done, but it's much more complicated. If you want it to run no matter which user logs on you can put it in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup These are settings for Win2K but should also be true for WinXP. |
