Feature Request: tray icon change when recording
Hi there,
I, and others who use my computer often forget (or don't know) when the computer is recording a show and sometimes change the TV channel during the recording. It would be great if the SageTV tray icon would change to a red color or to something noticeable so the user would know if it's in recording mode. It's a quick and easy way to check, rather than load up the program and look for the REC icon. |

tray icon is available as a plugin, that also works with service mode...

Plugin, shmugin
No offense, but, since the desktop half (client if you will) can manage to change the tray icon when there is a recording conflict, I just can't imagine why it can't do the same thing when there is a recording taking place. Just change the icon to red. This has been an ongoing request and seems totally simple on some level. The idea of adding another resident app, with all its associated system overhead, just to query the service periodically is absolutely idiotic in light of the fact that there is already an app running that is in constant communication with the service and has a tray icon. I cannot fathom the rationale for not putting in this apparently simple feature that has been requested over and over. END |

Pretty silly
I think it's pretty lame to run a plugin, plus another executable to have a tray icon notify the user that a recording is in progress. Just change the stupid color of the icon - sheesh.
