Upcoming Movies Module

I am upgrading my server to new silent hardware and going from Sage v.2.0.20 with MLBDUDE2 1.8.7 to Sage 2.2.8 with all of NIELM's import modules.

One of the many things I loved about MLBDUDE2 was the "Upcoming Movies" Search.

I want to customize my own Sage experience thus am not going with a canned STV and using NIELM's handy work. So how can I get "Upcoming Movies" in my 2.2.8 box??? Is there a module available for this?

I can't be alone with this desire ...

Thanks, T.

Thanks pcuoco ...

Will I have to use the MCE theme? I like to customize my own screen background, text, highlight bars, logo, menus icons, etc ...

Thought straight SageTV with Nielm module would be leanest ...

But if I can do this and still use Nielm's modules, WRS, etc. That would be cool!

Thanks, T.

With SageMC you can use one of the included themes or create your own. Most of the STV is done via images so if you know how to you can make it look how you like.

Also in v2 is either malore's STV or MalDude2, which both have malore's version of an Upcoming Movies menu. V3 also has that, since malore's custom menus are built-in as a 'hidden' feature.

Awesome! So, Here is the stage I am at ...

Installed ...

SageTV 2.2.8
Replaced Originalv2 STV with MyCustom STV
Installed Nielm's Modules:
Dynamic Menus
IMDB Search
RSS Newsfeeds
Default Record Padding and
Delete Partial Recordings

I changed my Background, Highlight Bar and Logo. Was just about to change the Fonts.

So ... Can I just drop in the SageMCE STV, point to it in the Detailed Setup and it will work with the already installed modules? Or do I have to go back to the Original2 STV, create a new MyCustom STV, point to SageMCE and reinstall all of Nielm's modules?

Thanks!! It sounds like I can have my cake and eat it too !!! T.

SageMC is its own installation. None of the imports work with it. It does include some of them though:

WRS, Dynamic Menu (as My Menu), and IMDB is integrated heavily in My Movies (you can even save the information with your video file for later). Some of this and much more is available in the 3.x beta but for now you would just want to use the SageMC169 Ver 4 version. Just extract it to your SageTV folder and make sure the paths come out of the zip correctly. Then just load the SageMC_169.stv.

Check out this thread for theme instructions and other informaiton. As usual lots of info in the thread about various configurations possible and features.

It really includes so much different functionality it is hard to do a comparison (especially the Sage 3.x version). I would suggest just trying it out.

Thanks mlbdude ... I tried SgaMC, but though pretty, it didn't work for me. I am too into customizing the inteface to my own preferences. I have tried Cayers and so far it seems I can have Nielm's Dynaimic Menus and your Upcoming Movies all at the same time ...

Plus I can still get Salsbst WRS, your Weather and Guide by Catagory and I even think Mini-Guide ... Throw in, I think Nielm's Upcoming Recordings and Disk Space Widgets and you've got a good amount of value ...

I can't wait to try Comskip and Cayers DVD Burning / Ripping and Divx!

So much to do ... So little time!!

Thanks, T.
