Switch between tuners?
I'll try and get this across clearly (anyone with a DirecTiVo will know what I'm talking about). Can Sage be made to switch between tuners when *not* recording two shows? On DirecTiVo, you can surf the guide and select a program to watch...then arrow pad down, and see the second tuner channel and surf with that tuner. You can keep switching back and forth and use the buffer to catch up with each show. It seems that Sage uses one tuner exclusively until you manually record two shows. Am I correct? Can it be done? Is my question clear?

Yes, you question is clear to me, since I have seen a DirecTivo in action and it does act the way you describe. I have not seen anything mentioning that Sage could be set up to act that way. If Sage could be set up that way, it would be nice.

You can't do this with "unscheduled" live TV; you would have to use the Record command to mark each as a Manual Recording. Live TV will stop recording when you stop watching it -- that includes when you switch to playing some other media.

I noticed the same thing. I always thought that IR would "solve this problem". Considering that you often want to watch something you started watching.
I haven't tried IR yet, mostly because of the poor XMLTV data and my very limited hd space. So right now i have to manualy record the shows. To watch two shows "at the same time" |
