AAC MUSIC: Will we ever get support for this?

Basically the title. While I don't have a large collection of music, it would still take several days (weekends) to re-rip all my music in MP3 format, or another that SageTV supports. I'm not willing to take the quality loss twice, by converting from AAC to MP3.

That would be great.

Same issue, but I listen to everything in Apple lossless format. Any chance of supporting that? I realize it may be dependent on whether or not Apple releases a codec for it, but I can dream. ;-)

I'm in the same boat. At least we can always transcode without losing any quality. I have not been able to figure out how to effectively use the Sage music interface very well, so I'm still using iTunes for music.

I'm using mlbdude's SageMC 16x9 STV. It has a very nice interface for music, if only I could see my music. I was originally going to use iTunes, but had issues installing it on a brand new PC!?

Anyway, I gave up that idea, and started using WinAmp, but the interface right now using Girder is just a mouse pointer controlled by my remote. Not very elegant. I'm probably going to have to use a WinAmp GML file to get better control of it.

If I had AAC support in Sage, I might be willing to give up the spectrum analyzer on my VFD (only when using WinAmp)...

can't say i've tried this for music specifically but the 3ivx decoder is directx based and allows you to playback nero digital encoded files which feature aac audio tracks.

i was able to play aac music in windows media player after loading that codec - give it a shot i guess?

Doesn't sound like fun....try XLobbyMC It has no issues controlling winamp right out of the box, just needs the winamp install directory.
