I upgraded my 3.0.7 server to 3.0.11 and did a fresh 3.0.11 client install. Sage works on the server as a service, but I cannot get the client to connect to it. Yes the server is enabled.

OK, nevermind. I solved my own problem. I forgot to add SageTVService to the server's firewall exceptions list. Doh!

Oh well, I guess I could continue searching for bugs in 3.0.7 in the meantime

Full Screen Exlcusive Mode (FSE) doesn't work on my system at all.

I get the Playback Error when trying to go to Live TV.

Nvidia GeForce 6200 w/ latest beta drivers as of September 26th, 2005.
Windows 2000 SP4
DirectX 9.0c

I also don't have "Pixel Adaptive" de-interlacing method in my Nvidia Pure Video (NVDVD)... I don't know why!

... ugh.

Not everyone with 6600GT has this issue. I've been use FSE since 3.07 and have upgraded to 3.0.11 with no issues. nVidia decoder (TheaterTek so not the latest version of nVidia decoders) and nVidia drivers 78.01. Also Windows XP w/SP2.

What are your other video settings within SageTV? Using the Nvidia decoders I get the best results--an error message rather than a hang!

I'm also using a 6600Gt with v3.0.11 and it works great. I never could get it to work with 3.0.7 though.

My settings are:
VMR9
Nvidia Decoder
Everything else default.

Overlay with FSE doesn't work so be sure to select VMR9.

Selecting the default decoder (even if it's the nvidia one) gives an error message. The only way mine will work is by specifically selecting Nvidia Decoder.

Also if you're using the 9.0b quartz.dll you probably need to change back to the 9.0c one. If you have no idea what I'm talking about then you shouldn't have to worry about it.

When switching decoders or going from windowed to fullscreen I sometimes get an error message and have to reboot before it will work properly.

DirectX 9.0c
nVida decoders set with DXVA and Smart deinterlacing and VMR9
nVidia chosen in Sage TV for video decoder, rest is default
VMR9 in SageTV
FSE in SageTV

I only had issues when 3.0 beta first came out. After that it has worked fine for me.

I'm always running Sage in full screen mode and never use the windowed mode.

One problem that continues to frustrate me is that if I try and pull up the options menu using my remote while watching a recording or AVI, Sage starts playing either Live TV or another recording. Right-clicking with the mouse works fine. Doesn't always happen, but about 95% of the time it does.

Like others have reported though, my DirectX stuttering video problem seems to have disappeared.

This happens during playback? What remote is this? And, what does SageTV show if you go to Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Show SageTV Command & press that remote button?

I've had some weird issues with the Sage 3 betas that I didn't think was Sage's fault until maybe now. Sage seems to be responding to IR codes that I haven't programmed it with. Like some macros on my remote now will sometimes be the equivalent of hitting enter. I also wish there was a core level IR antirepeat setting in Sage in which a delay could be configured via properties.

This is all using the USB UIRT.

Yes, during playback. It is an MCE remote. When I hit the button from the menu you indicated, it brings up the Video Options menu.

What button is that on an MCE remote? I'm not even sure which one of its buttons would be acting as the Options command. "Clear"? That looks like it should be sending the Escape key, which would be reflected in the Show Command area instead of popping up the Video Options Menu.

[QUOTE=gplasky]DirectX 9.0c
nVida decoders set with DXVA and Smart deinterlacing and VMR9

I'm a bit of a noob to this, how do I set up the NVIDIA decoder? I have the Purevideo Platinum, available in SageTV, but can't see where to configure it like you say.

Thanks!
Rick

Start up Windows Media Player and play a video or DVD. (DON'T play it full screen.) Now look in your system tray for the nVidia icon. Right-click on it and you should be able to get to the properties of it and make those changes.

OK, I finally got 3.0.11 to run stably in FSE with a 6600GT. The trick was setting VMR9, Nvidia video codec and Nvidia audio codec. The audio portion was really screwing me up and making the error show up when I tried to play a video or live tv.

Well, I figured it out... On reading what you wrote, I decided to check my setup.

Turns out I had two of the Girder Sage mappings mapped to the same button, Options and Previous Channel...

Go figure!

My guess is that the 350 issue would be in the core, so that probably won't be resolved until the next beta release.
Aren't you glad that I guessed wrong?

Check out this fix to see if that works.
