Disable semi-transparent ui??
Is there a way to disable the semi-transparent ui in overlay mode with Sage 2.2 or 3.0?
I am running with a Pentium III 550MHz so CPU power is marginal. If I run with version 2.1.10 in overlay mode, CPU pegs around 80% utilization during video playback, but things work pretty well. If I use one of the STVs that allow semi-transparent under 2.1.10, video playback stutters and sage becomes somewhat unresonsive (5-20 seconds to respond to button pushes on the remote). When I tried 2.2.8, I had the same problems and I couldn't see a way to disable the semi-transparent ui, so I had to revert back to 2.1.10. |

Derailed setup / advanced / overlay color keying = disabled.

I can give it a try later this week, but I thought color-keying was for complete transparency. I was talking about the semi-transparent stuff (like for the progress bar at the bottom and the channel and description at the top of the screen during tv or video playback).
I thought semi-transparent was an option with only some of the STVs (lilke nielm) in version 2.1, but was enabled by default with 2.2 or higher. |

Well I finally got around to re-upgrading from 2.1.10 to 2.2.8. I noticed in the release notes for version 2.2.8 it says if you DISABLE 3d acceleration and use Overlay mode it will use the semi-transparent stuff.
So, I tried both enabling and disabling 3d acceleration and guess what? - now I can't make it semi-transparent no matter how it is set. The only thing I can figure is maybe last time I tried, it somehow got set to VMR9 instead of Overlay and that's why I had problems. Well whatever happened, it's working OK now. |
