Scaling issues
I have a new SageTV installation to a standard 4x3 TV connected via S video to a nvidia 6200. I noticed that the station ID banners are not in their usual corner - they have moved closer to the center of the picture- the top seems to be cut off as well. How can I fix this?

Check out pages 134-135 of the manual.

Im not having problems with overscan of the UI - im having problems with the actual video. Does my resolution need to be 640X 480?

You should have overscan running like a normal TV and you should be running as close to a resolution as a normal TV as you can. However, check the manual (probably same pages as quoted above) for Zoom settings. These will allow you to change the positioning and height /width of the video.

I understand what your problem is and the pages I referred you to deal with the aspect ratio settings that adjust the offset and zoom settings, which adjust the size and location of the video displayed.

I played around with the offset and zoom - but that doesnt seem to solve the problem. It seems like the boarder around the picture is masking part of the picture. (when I reduce the strech - all this does is make the boarder bigger- im not seeing more picture.

Have you made sure that your desktop is centered and zoomed properly to the TV-screen. Adjust the settings in windows first to have the desktop fit properly, then you can try to adjust Sage to fit full-screen using the aspect ratio setting.
