Musicmatch Jukebox V Yahoo! Music
I just starting checking out yahoo! Music since I work alone at work and get bored so I started the free trial. And I have to say I love it, as in the custom channel it sets up for you based on your ratings and the subscription service is awesome. Only if my iPod worked with DRM, but I can go through the pains with this service for $5 a month and get another player isntead of an iPod.
So I was like I need to get this in my media center. So I know Musicmatch is Yahoo! and they have an interface for XP MCE which I am sure can be worked with to work with Sage since I use Sage for my recordings. But does anyonw know if Yahoo! Music works with MCE? Do they have an interface for it also? |

While Yahoo owns MusicMatch, they are not using the same credentials for MusicMatch services and Yahoo Unlimited. I have to maintain both accounts. Originally I understood they would get rid of the MusicMatch client at some point, but it now sounds like it is going to be kept. (that's just what I heard.)
Where do you find the MCE piece for MusicMatch. I would like to look at that. I also would love a SageTV interface for Yahoo Unlimited. I really like where the service is and looks to be going. |

Yes the idea of subscription service is great. Too be honest, because of it I will be buying more music instead of just using LimeWire or something to "steal" it. And Yahoo is cheaper then their Matchmusic.
but with MCE they show online (like if you search for the Microsoft website that shows all the players and music and video service that will work) that Matchmusic is a service for MCE. Same with Napster and MSN's site. Just too bad Apple is just kicking back to see what happens with this type of service instead of just doing it. It is going to hurt them since the iPod will only make the iPos support iTunes which I am sure will never support DRM and everyone else is on board with it since it is cheap and Windows. But if they had a service like this then I would be sticking with iTunes because I love it. I also love how Yahoo has a way to search for the tag info instead of I having to add all the details myself. I just want a media center interface and I'm all set. |
