Help with loading .STV
OK guys... For some unearthly reason my SageTV with Cayars stopped working, so, no sweat I will reinstalled SageTV.
I basically started from scratch (SageTV 2.2 + Cayars 18e) and I can't seem to get it to load the .STV. Now I don't remember how I got it to work the first time, and ive been trying every other customization just to see if its cayars, but it seems after I select the .STV to load Sage just croaks. For all I know I could be importing it wrong so please someone help me out. SageTV is making me want to vomit. Why can't there be a PVR app that doesn't take forever to setup, has all the features, is easily GUI changable, and is stable. Guess this isnt goldey locks. For all I care someone can .zip their sage directory and send it to me as long as it has comskip, DVD playback, and looks good.

Also, are you loading the STV or importing it? How are you specifying whish STV file is to be used?
And: did you unzip the zip file in the correct location, while retaining the directory structure in the zip file? - Andy

Sorry i've been experimentin with media portal just to see how it tallis up... Now if i can get cayars to work again I would get rid of media portal... Media portal uses way too much system resources for what it does and to be honest its a piece of crap and crashes or locks up anytime you want to do something out of perspective of watching the tv... It also takes forever to do anything remote wise with it because they use their own remote control mechanism instead of irremote.ini (hauppauge remotes)...
Sorry had to spit all that out... The problem is I dont have a clue how to import the STV correctly or what i need to make cayars work, and i guess by some fluke I got it to work the first time. I've read everything on the main cayars page, but its all mixed up in the old versions and confusing. If someone would like step me through it with some 1 2 3's I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks again, and im glad to be back!

All I am doing is extracting the Cayars18testE.zip into the sagtv directory... then I select CayarsTestE.stv in the definition file...
All it does after that is sit there at the selected panel. No CPU usage or anything...
