New at this in need of help.

Ok i'm new at this so if i've stuffed up something simple please be patient.

I'm in australia and am attempting to get epg working for foxtel. So far I've

Done steps 1-3 from this guide http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1484

installed this http://www.tvxb.com/index.htm and used the supplied ini to create a .xml for my local channels.

I coppied this to Frey Technologies\Sage TV\ and renamed to epgdata.xml

The problem occurs when i try and do step 5 from the above guide, I get the option of XMLTV lineup but when i click it sage just hangs on "Please wait while the channel lineup is downloaded for XMLTV Lineup...". Is there perhaps a certain format that the plugin needs which is different from the one returned by TVxb?

Any help would be appreciated.

waiting forever usually means that the plugin failed while parsing the XML...

Usual errors include: no stop time for programs (workaround: run xmltv.exe tv_sort on the data), no timezone start/stop times, or just invalid XML.

You can run the XMLTV plugin outside of Sage with a plugin tester (see the XMLTV link in the Sage Wiki linked in my sig), which might show you where the error was...

(note for .au there is also the new EPG service of www.icetv.com.au, and they allegedly support SageTV... but after the trial, it costs AU$ I am afraid!)

Which XMLTV plugin are you using? TVXB data dies on some of them. I've been meaning to write a Sage TVXB guide but haven't gotten around to it yet. Its coming though. For now, use this plugin by Demideus: :http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...3378#post43378
