Problems with Sage 2.2.8 and Java 1.5 and plugin?

Hey, I've been using Sage 2.0 for a while now, and didn't bother upgrading because it did everything I wanted to do.

But I upgraded Java, and then my old version of Sage stopped working, so I decided to try the new version.

Well, now I have Java 1.5.0.3, and Sage 2.2.8... and the plugin doesn't work at all.

I see my provider, "Rogers Cable", but after I select it, no channels appear.
(I did copy of the Java stuff to the lib/ext/ folder before anyone asks).

I dug up a copy of 2.0 from my archives, and it works perfectly again... so... what's wrong with 2.2.8?

Any help appreciated!
Thanks.

Uhm, I had the same problem you describe, but from your troubleshooting it seems iffy.

Anyways, what I was missing myself was the java files for digicasa in the lib/ext java directory (because you upgraded your java...)

For what its worth, that causes the exact behaviour that you are seeing.

However, I have no idea how your 2.0 is working, likely some extra circumstances there.

Hope this helps

Actually, I read that "fix" and that was the first thing I tried...

But, as I said, it just freezes right after I enter 00000 as the zipcode.

Oh well, I guess I'm not missing a lot... 2.0 still works fine.

Id be fairly confident in suggesting that its a problem with your plugin as opposed to Sage, but I dont know what else to suggest Im afraid.
Sorry I couldnt be more help

Hmm, alright then... I'll stick with 2.0 for now.

Any freeze after entering the zipcode is probably caused by the plugin crashing... Enable the logging console (see the FAQ) and you should be able to see what exception caused it.

Just curious: why are you reconfiguring your channel lineup -- you should be able to just install 2.2 over 2.0 and it will use the same settings (never tried it myself tho)

I'd double check you have the java libraries in the \lib\ext folder. Re-download them from Digicasa and do it again. I had the same problem as you, and I was pretty sure I had copied the files, but it turned out I was missing a couple.

Also, are you sure it's freezing after entering the zip code? Sometimes it can take a few minutes without and feedback.
