EPG import plugin reference goes missing

I am trying to use the XMLTV import plugin and went thorugh the whole process described at http://mta.techno.org/epg/ and set up for the DISH Network USA data and got the DISH program data (not very useful in NZ!)

I shut down Sage TV edit the properties file with notepad:

epg/epg_import_plugin=

changed it to:

epg/epg_import_plugin=xmltv.XMLTVImportPlugin

Saved the file and started Sage TV again.

I can see that Java fires up in the process but no NZ program channel data is presented. I have the epgdata.xml file for NZ in my SageTV directory.

When I shutdown Sage again and then look in the properties file the import plugin file has reverted to

epg/epg_import_plugin=

Anybody got any ideas?

Are you using the SageTV Service? If so you need to shut down the service (net stop sagetv, or use the service control app) instead of just the SageTV User Interface.

If not, make sure that Sage is really shut down (not just sleeping in the taskbar).

(Sage regularly re-writes it's properties file while it is running)

Wow, nielm. I have been over to the Sage wiki like a hundred times and have never seen that page before. That is an awsome place for XMLTV info. Thanks for that link!

Neilm has it it right I had the Sage TV service running at the time. All works fine now except that the NZ EPG service is now having access problems. I say 'service' the guy runs it from a box in his garage! http://mr.geek.nz/epg/

If you are having problems with your NZ program guide you might want to try rolling your own with tvxb (www.tvxb.com). This grabber is amazing.

Cheers
Eric
