I.R. is awesome but stop recording the damn news!!!
I.R. has introduced me to several new shows and I love it for that... however it keeps recording the nightly news! I have tried checking "didn't like" and have done my best to get the point across that I don't want to watch the news but it doesn't get it. Is there some way to have it not record shows with "News" in the title or some such feature. Ideas... or suggestions?

Use Viewing History to mark all of the news shows Don't Like and Not Watched. This will stop this behavior immediately.

Can also be done in my webserver: Click Additional Airings for a news show; change the search filter options to 'In the past' and 'Watched', [select all], then action on selected 'set don't like', then 'clear watched'...
A show marked as Watched suggests that you like shows in that category , shows on that channel and shows with that title, leading to IR selecting shows based on that criteria... Clearing the Watched flag, and marking it with Don't like gives shows with that criteria a negative profile, and IR should not select them... You might also want to search by category for news shows (I have a constant fight with IR and childrens TV shows!)

I agree... but sometime you want to watch the news live, but not have to jump through the hoops to "hide your tracks".
There should be more control of IR. Rules to always record/ never record on top of the intelligence that it has. I hate that it records movies all of the time. |

I agree. I wish there was a way to exempt certain shows from becoming fodder for IR.

I would just be happy if I could limit it to a single drive and tuner.
