channel changer command line keeps poping up

i am using a redeye ir device to change channels on my stb in the uk. everything is working lovely exept for the fact that when i change channels the command line window for the changer program comes up on top of sage and is really annoying. is there a way to get this to run in the background or keep sage on top all the time? thanks

If there is no answer for that hardware's utility, then you could try right clicking on the title bar for SageTV & set it to always be on top. You might also want to try the "TweakUI for Windows XP" (if that is what version of Windows you are using) utility & set it to prevent applications from stealing focus... don't know if it would help, but might be worth a try.

could sage have an option to keep it on top in fullscreen mode like it does at the top of the windowed version?

Create a batch file that runs sage and a utility that forces the stay on top... Like
http://www.commandline.co.uk/cmdow/

That is a commandline program that allows you to set any window on top along with some other nifty effects. So now when you run sage it does it automagically for you.

thanks kanati that program did the trick, ive put the sage window on top when it loads and it does the trick, i was thinking of hiding the redeye window but that still brought up a short cmdow window to do it. but this works fine. Im now looking to get the focus back to meedio from sage but no one as cracked this one yet. but thanks ats another little step closer to htpc heven

Another alternative is a command line tool that hides command line windows (eg for batch files) I use runhide.exe for other purposes...

runhide.exe program.exe arguments
runhide.exe batch.cmd arguments

thank you nielm that works really well and means that i can simply run the changer prog hidden and not put sage as the top window, so thank you. i am trying to use the cmdow prog now to somehow return the focus to meedio im sure it should be possible.
