UK Weather

Howdy fellow Sagers,

Has anyone tried setting up the weather feature of sage to work for the UK?
If so is it possible you could give me a guide on how to do it please, or if this has been discussed elsewhere could you post me the link.
Any feedback is most appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Not the answer you want, I'm sure, but I use xlobby.com for all things other than tv stuff.

if you think you spent a lot of time playing with sage, wait till you see this

not exactly what I was looking for but I'm taking a look at that xlobby.
Thanks for you interest though and lets see how Xlobby works. Sounds quite promasing what I can gather from their website.
I'm finding it a little difficult on how to tell xlobby where to look for media files, but a bit more tinkering and im sure I will get there.

Thanks alot though mate, appreciate it.

Rob

No worries.
The first few months can be shear hell.

And then the light comes. But then you want to do more, and its back to learning.
I have it just about all working now, and its fab!

Which weather module were you thinking about using in SageTV? There are two: "Local Weather" and "Weather Report Suite".

I have no idea I am complete newbie to this weather stuff. I've always been one for just using teletext

It all depends, sometime I Will want local weather and other times I will want to check the weather if I plan to go somewhere.

Which do you thing I should use?

Xlobby seems pretty cool.
UI as standard lacks a bit, but for freeware you complain.
Ive got it to monitor my local weather which cool. Maybe no as sufisticated as sage but is still cool.
Also got it to load picture and music in the Help menue.

Hurdy,

If the UI lacks something, it can be changed!
The only limited is your photoshop skill (and there are people on the forum who will even help out with that)

Well, I wrote the Weather Report Suite, so I'm partial to it. A page about it is here: http://sage-community.org/index.cgi/...herReportSuite and a thread about it is here: http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=8160

It's main advantage over local weather is, IIRC, that: (a) it supports user-customized (animated) radar maps and (b) it supports multiple locations.

It's main disadvantage is that it is not as easy to configure.

Here's is a post from the above thread in which ukmgranger shared his configuration for London: http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthread.php?p=66210
