Highres Transparent Channel Logos

First of all, I would like to thank Remmy925 for all the work put into all those channel logos (re: thread ).

Based on those, and some vector logos found, I've made a set of transparent channel logos. I've built the set around the Oakland, CA Comcast Digital lineup, but you'll probably find most of the logos will correspond to your lineup with some renaming. Also, if you already have an icon for a particular channel you may need to remove it, as pngs have low priority in SageTv (they're ignored if a jpg or gif of the same name is present).

I'll post more as I have time.

I'm hoping in a future release of SageTV an option for loading large and small icons might be incorporated. The scaled down icons can sometimes be somewhat difficult to read in the LiveTV Guide.

nice work! But like you say, you really need a small and large version so that it doesn't get so messy when resized. I also notice that there's a thin black line that outlines the "logo".

The thin line appears to be a frame the SageTV app includes. When I first noticed that I thought it might be an artifact in the PNGs, it wasn't.

I use an LCD monitor as our "TV" and found that upping the resolution to 1024x768 appears to improve the icons in the TV Guide view.

Also, in the 3rd group I've started maximizing the logos in the graphic space to improve readability. The 4th group will probably be mostly fixes along that line.

when I use my client version at 1600x1200 it looks just fine no lines and the logos look great. Too bad my tv can't do that... (nor my pj for that matter).

Do you have to download all the zip files, or just the last one?

I wouldn't want to waste your bandwidth.

Edit: Nice site BTW. Very slick.

Is it worth making a sticky where people can put links to thier collections of logos ?

E.g. I have a good set of logo's I've got from various sources for UK cable provider NTL's family pack line up.

Cheers

Not really... many people don't seem to check the stickies anyway, such as near the bottom of this one.

Unless Im missing something, that is nothing like what I was asking.

It's a selection of logo's (Mainly US based).

I was suggesting that there be a sticky that has e.g. :-

UK:

NTL (Family Pack).zip
NTL (Basic Service).zip
Sky (Full Premium).zip

USA:

COMCAST (godknows).zip
COMCAST (godknows2).zip

etc

If I've missed a handy list like that I'll kick myself - I spent several hours setting up my own logo pack

Cheers

That would be a great use for the SageTV community website, mentioned in this thread. And, you could start it yourself, then encourage others to post their logo sets.

ok - here's the link to the wiki with the new logos segment.

http://www.sage-community.org/index.cgi/wiki/

I appear to have attatched a zip file to the main page - anyone know how to get rid of this ?

The link to my logo pack is not the attatchment on the main page.

D'oh

Does anyone else have any packs they want to contribute ?
Karljayne, I wanted to add yours in - do you want me to link to the zip off your site, or download and reupload to the wiki ?

Cheers

If you don't mind, I have moved the logopacks section to it's own page:
http://www.sage-community.org/index.cgi/wiki/Logopacks
and left a link in the main page (if a lot of packs get added, it will make the page a bit big )

Removing attachments can only be done by admins (ErstatzTom, me, Stanger89, and a few others I think.), but it is removed now

Now that it has its own wiki page, I added a link in the customizations index.

Added a link to LyngSat Logo to the Wiki page. I know it's not a logo pack, but I still think it should be included there as another source. They do have some prepackaged pages for some providers...

What a great idea!

I added a combined rar to the wiki page. I even added a mis-spelling!
