couple quic noob questions
Hey all, I just got my system set up and had a couple quick quesitons.
I can wach tv fine without issue. And I am able to pick my local cable company from the list. But it does not show the programs showing at the time. Basically the tv guide does not list. Is this an issue with my internet? Do I need to do anything to my router to let it pull the guide data? 2nd problem. I am running a pvr-150 after everyone said how good they are. I plan on using 3 tuners in my setup when im finished, but right now my cpu usage is very high with only one in my system. I am running a 2.6 gig celeron, with 512 meg of ram, 128 meg video gefoce 5200, and 120 gig hard drive. It says on the package that it needs a 733 mhz processor or better, so why would it show such high cpu usage with a 2.6 gig? Is there something im doing wrong? Thanks everyone. Your response is appreciated. |

Redo the source setup. If you are using analog cable, try the Basic lineup w/ all channels enabled. If you are using digital cable, try the Extended lineup (if available).
When do you have high CPU? All the time? Then probably not a SageTV-related issue. Or is it during recording w/ no playback? Perhaps a slow hard drive w/ little or no cache. Or during recording/LiveTV playback? Make sure hardware acceleration is on in SageTV detailed settings, and try different renderers and MPEG-2 filters. CPU playback is high because of playback not recording
your 5200 is most probably causing the high CPU usage make your your video render is set to overlay if this really bothers you the first time you download the channel guide is takes a long time you can go into the channel setup and remove then readd a channel this will jump start the update if it has stalled 120 GB will not last long with 3 tuners just so you know what type of display are you using? and what output are you using from your video card? |
