Mixing a PVR 250 and USB2 in the same system?
I recently submitted a request to Hauppauge about some crashes of the PVR250 drivers and I was told that I should not run a PVR250 with a PVRUSB2 in the same system.
I had the problem even when the PVR250 was alone in the system. I am taking this information with a grain of salt since apart from the occasional crash, the two devices were working well together. Is there any caveat somewhere about this? I don't think that I am the only one running this mix! |

I run a 350, 250, and USB2 in the same system. I haven't rebooted it since the last beta came out, and the beta before that for the was probably the second to last time I rebooted it. It is very stable with these cards in my system.
Hauppauge is just covering their official statement, so they don't have anybody thinking it's supported.

I've got a 250 & PVR-USB2 in the same system too... no conflicts with that combo here either.

Andy,
did you install the drivers in the same WinTV directory for both cards? Now that I think of it, I when installing the drivers, I let both of them share the same directory........ That could be a source of problems! |

Yes, I used the same WinTV directory for the applications. I think you only have to select that dir once anyway & then after that the Hauppauge installer 'knows' where to put things and keeps installing its apps there. (It has been a while since I reinstalled things, so that last comment may be a bit off.) Also: I believe that dir is just for the apps; the drivers should be put in the various Windows dirs where drivers go.
